You have no power over me!

Video Games # 1

Wow what an original title for my next post you say, but yes I believe it is time for old Klytus to talk some smack bout the games we love. And don’t believe the hype that the twenty-somethings will tell that they started this whole game craze with their PS1/PS2 Tomb Rider crap, trust me on this one kiddos any gamer worth his weight in gold (wtf), cannot be trusted if he believes gaming started with the PlayStation. Now, I know gaming had its start in military/research applications and I will not bore you with the nitty gritty details but I will cover the first truly gaming experience I consider worth mentioning the Atari 2600. Yes there was a system everyone and their grandma had in the very late 70’s to early 80’s, the 2600, this beauty had like 5 colors it could pump out and mono sound that truly rocked, I’m just joking I think it could pump out like maybe 16 colors and by rock I mean bleeps and bloops. But mention Atari to an old scholar and watch as they gently wipe a tear from their eye, I mean this system was built to last at least till Nintendo came along.

By now everyone has heard of the great E.T. debacle in the 80’s something like 1 million unsold E.T. games being buried in the desert or something like that and this story is generally believed by many  but only I klytus knows what really happened to all those games and without giving too much away lets just say. Stop, I have just been handed a note saying I can not talk/blog about where all those unsold games are, hint hint, aliens.

I can say with a strait face the systems I have had or currently have, here it goes Atari 2600, Sega Master system, Sega Genesis, NES, Super NES, Atari Jaguar, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, Virtual boy my eyes still hurt, all incarnations of the GameBoy from mono chrome to DS, Nintendo 64 first 4 port and analog controls, Gamecube, X-box, 360, and a Wii. And maybe some I don’t remember, any thing missing from the list, oh yeah the PlayStation and Sony’s stuff I have not owned any Sony gaming related products why well that’s a whole another blog.

Now some people will say what about Celoco or the Intellivision or some other system like maybe some computer gaming, wow where do I start with those, the intellivision was for, In my humble opinion, snobs, Ouch I hope no one reads this. And don’t start me on computer gaming that’s a whole can of worms I don’t want to open yet. This concludes my little rant on the early days of gaming I will continue further discussion as time permits, you know Klytus has to go get his Ranking up in Halo 3. Almost forgot the Turbographix system, yeah kinda lame but cool nonetheless.End of line.
